“DD” BEING AWARE
(The Gospel of Thomas) Your salvation comes from being aware of what is already inside of you. If you are unaware, you will remain subject to death.
Salvation can be seen through different lenses. Two of these lenses are Life after life and Life during life. There is no true death of the soul, only physical death of the body, or along the same lines, disillusion of the personal ego. Salvation is the underpinning of both new beginnings. The easiest pathway to salvation of the soul with regards to Life after life is by asking Jesus to be your savior/teacher and asking for the forgiveness of sins and help to live differently moving forward.
The easiest pathway to Life during life is becoming aware of what is already inside of you.
What is inside of you? More importantly, what are you?
Do you know?
The answer is God, or whatever name best fits your current level of understanding.
In an instant, one can become aware of what is already inside you, or you can remain ignorant of Life and continue choosing death with each new breath.
If you ever wonder what you are at your core, start by letting go of attachments and aversions, expectations and desires, then allow what you hope you are at your core to bubble out and see how much you connect with what arises. Once seeing it, be of service to it.
For instance, if at your core you hope you’re all love, go do something loving for another without requesting a ‘thank you’ in return. Once you’ve done this once, do it every day. Then multiple times a day. And if you can, find a job where all you do is love other people through service. Every time you serve another person or group of people, and the desire arises within you to want praise for your actions, ask God to relieve you of your selfish desires.
There are many pathways to set up the possibility of instantly becoming aware of what is already inside of you, but the easiest way is to be loving everywhere, all the time, regardless of ridicule, regardless of others’ praise for you. Be forgiving, everywhere and to everyone.
Once your life becomes about service, about surrender, about forgiveness, about loving someone with no hope of getting in return, you’ll know why Jesus was Jesus, why the Kingdom of God is within you, and how life can be something utterly different for you than what the mass of humanity would have you believe.
God is found internally when we stop holding the belief system we’re owed anything. God is found internally when we stop looking outward for answers about internal truth. Salvation for Life during life is as available as salvation for your eventual encounter with Life after life.
